     David's paternal line descends from Bland family #2, whose immigrate 12th great-grandfather was James Bland (1661-1709) of Penrith Township, Cumberland County (now Cumbria), England.

    His maternal line descends from his 1st great-grandfather David, for whom he was named, who immigrated to the northwestern part of Missouri with his father, James.  David's third great-grandfather, Jonathon, remained in Dumfries, Scotland.  May we suggest that Carmichael cousins visit the award-winning Carmichael websites of the Clan's Chief at Carmichael, and the USA division of the Clan .
